Peter Wolf...

"Happy 66th Birthday"
Peter Wolf

Best known for his tenure fronting the J. Geils Band, singer Peter Wolf was born and raised in the Bronx, and came from a family active in show business. His father was a dancer, song plugger, disc jockey, and singer of light opera; his mother, an organizer for the civil rights and labor movements, was a teacher for inner-city children in the Bronx. Wolf's earliest passion was painting, and he was accepted on a scholarship to the Museum of Modern Art's Special Studies for Children, and later to the High School of Music and Art, just blocks from the Apollo Theater, where the young Wolf would make weekly visits. In 1983, the group was at the height of its popularity, and had gone 17 years without a personnel change. Finally, the bandmembers went their separate ways and Wolf went on to produce numerous film soundtracks and run art exhibits of his original paintings. In 1984, he released his first solo album, Lights Out, followed in 1987 by Come as You Are, which spurred the hit single of the same name. starpulse.com

Had to post my Favorite Song...
"Centerfold"

Lucy fact:  My Twin Sister & I made a cheer to this song back when we thought it was 'COOL' to dance in the middle of the living room floor dressed up in our Pj's like weirdo's with the t.v. on full blast, HAHA...!!!!

Theory Of A Deadman...

Music Video of the day...
"The Bitch Came Back"

Back in 2008, Theory of a Deadman singer-guitarist Tyler Connolly paired up with former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi to write "Not Meant To Be" for the band's Scars and Souvenirs album. The collaboration was so successful that the duo decided to work together again on Theory's next album and this song was the result. Connolly told Noisecreep: "There's just something about us getting in a room together that makes us write badass songs. Whenever Kara asks me if I would like to hook up with her to write something, I always say yes. With her you know it's going to be something cool and a big opportunity. You know it's probably going to be for a big artist and not some DJ in Kazakhstan. (Laughs)

Kara hasn't written with that many rock bands, but her style is similar to mine. I've done the songwriting junket thing in Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles, and people just don't get me. I'll sit down with someone and they'll say, 'OK, so what rhymes with glove.' It's a nightmare. With Kara I'll just show her an idea and then the next thing you know, bang-bang, we have a song. She's just as impressed as I am. She'll be like, 'Wow, that was easy!' That kind of chemistry is rare in my experience." -Songfacts.com

My Thoughts: Was in my Jeep driving when first heard this song and all I could say was 'WOW'...
How many men can relate to this, lol...The ex-Girlfriend who just wouldn't go away !!!
Theory of a Deadman really knew how to hit it home with the meaning of this one~

More song Info:  In 2010 Tyler Connolly and his wife, the Canadian actress Christine Danielle, divorced. This song is about the ending of their relationship. He told Hard Rock Reviews: "The song on the record that stemmed from that break up is 'The Bitch Came Back.' The moral is, the bitch came back, so it's self explanatory there but there's a lot of people that relate to that song. I actually did an interview with a woman the other day and she said 'I don't think women are going to like these songs.' So I told her, 'I think you're wrong.' If you write a book about women, guys aren't going to buy it but music is so open that they can relate to it no matter what." -Songfacts.com

David Gilmour...

"Happy 66th Birthday"
David Gilmour

David Gilmour is best known for his distinctively spacy, atmospheric guitar work for Pink Floyd. Born March 6, 1944, in Cambridge, England, Gilmour was well acquainted with the members of Pink Floyd when they asked him to join their band to supplement the guitar work of the increasingly erratic Syd Barrett. When Barrett's mental breakdown made it impossible for him to continue with the group, Gilmour became a permanent contributing member in time for their second album, 1968's A Saucerful of Secrets. Gilmour has recorded solo albums during periods of Pink Floyd inactivity, including 1978's moody David Gilmour, 1984's more melodic About Face (after the breakup of the Roger Waters-led lineup), and 2006's laid-back, lyrical On an Island (which became a Top Ten hit). A concert set, Live in Gdansk, appeared in 2008. Gilmour has also lent his guitar to a number of other artists' records, notably Kate Bush and Bryan Ferry.  -kctunes.com

True fact: Contrary to popular belief, he did not replace Syd Barrett as a member of Pink Floyd. He was asked by the members of Pink Floyd to join the band to supplement the guitar work of the increasingly erratic Syd Barrett. For a brief time, he and Syd were both members of Pink Floyd at the same time. When Barrett's mental breakdown made it impossible for him to continue with the group, Gilmour became a permanent, contributing member in time for their second album, 1968's A Saucerful of Secrets. Syd Barrett also contributed one track to A Saucerful of Secrets, his last with Pink Floyd. He departed soon after that.  -imdb.com

Mötley Crüe...

Music Video of the day...
Mötley Crüe
"To Young To Fall In Love"

A song by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe originally released on their 1983 album Shout at the Devil. Written by bass guitarist Nikki Sixx, "Too Young to Fall in Love" was released as a single in 1984 and reached #90 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #26 on the Mainstream Rock tracks. The song later appeared in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. -Wikipedia.com

My Thoughts: What a blast from the past, Love Love Love this song. The impact that the band made from this one video was tremendous for me, I ran to the the mall the very next day and bought their album.
Many fans I'm sure can agree at 1st sight that they just might be another Garage/Glam Hair Band of the month, Boy was I wrong...With Vince Neil's vocals, Tommy Lee's wild drum sets, Nikki Sixx's lyrics and Mick Mars's guitar riffs they proved me wrong. Standing the test of time Rocking it til this day, Maybe older but damn can I get a "HELL YEAH" for them surviving the life of true Rock Stars, From Addictions to Broken marriages, The band members made it through all the years to stand tall with the 'devil horns' flying up in the air, Keeping it real~

Died before his time...

Andy Gibb
Would be 54 if alive today...

Singer. Born Andrew Roy Gibb on March 5, 1958 in Manchester, England. The younger brother of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (also known as the Bee Gees), Gibb launched a solo singing career in Australia as a teenager. He released several hit singles before moving to Miami Beach to work with his brother Barry. There, he became the first male solo artist to chart three consecutive No.1 singles. His debut album, Flowing Rivers enjoyed subsequent success.

Gibb's next effort, Shadow Dancing, went multi-platinum, but fame was taking its toll. He battled a drug addiction during the recording of his final studio album, After Dark, in 1979. Despite his drug problems, Gibb took on more projects, including starring in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Broadway.

In the mid-1980s, Gibb finally sought help for his addiction at the Betty Ford Clinic. After his release, he continued to make appearances but never returned to his past fame. In 1987, he declared bankruptcy. Gibb died of myocarditis, a previously diagnosed heart condition, on March 10, 1988 at age 30. He is survived by his daughter, Peta, from a short-lived marriage to Kim Reeder. -Biography.com

My Thoughts: Such a sad life Andy had, I don't remember knowing much about his personal life at the time but I do remember seeing him on American Band Stand singing "Shadow Dancing", he was definitely a cutie. Another talent that was gone to quickly~

Slipknot...

Slipknot
"Snuff"

"Snuff" is a power ballad by American metal band Slipknot, Released as the fifth single from their fourth album All Hope Is Gone on September 28, 2009, the song charted at number two on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, their highest charted single to date, surpassing "Dead Memories". It was not included in the All Hope Is Gone World Tour setlist but the band performed the song live at the October 11, 2009 performance in Kennewick, Washington.
Roadrunner Records placed "Snuff" at No. 6 for its greatest music videos of all time. The song was also nominated for "Best Single" at "The 2010 Kerrang Awards", but lost to "Liquid Confidence" by You Me at Six.
It is the final single released from the band before the death of their bassist, Paul Gray who died just eight months after its release. During recent Stone Sour shows, Corey Taylor has performed an acoustic version of Snuff as a tribute to Paul Gray. -Wikipedia.com

My Thoughts: First off I have to admit, I really wasn't a big Slipknot fan in the beginning.  Due to their heavier aggressive style, I was a bit turned away...Well I was soooo wrong...When I 1st heard "Snuff"..I was pleasantly surprised..The song really gave me hope that they do have feelings behind all that screaming. I truly felt guilty for not giving them more of a chance earlier. Going beyond the different look and the screaming they proved that although they might not look or act the 'NORM' they still have a heart that can be broken. Even if it may a bit darker softer side, lol... I can relate so well...I should know better than to judge too soon. They have a fan in me now~

'50' and sexier than ever ...

"Happy 50th Birthday"
Jon Bon Jovi

Musician, actor. Born John Francis Bongiovi Jr. on March 2, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Jon was raised by his parents, Carol and John Bongiovi, a hairdresser. By his early teens, he was hanging out at local clubs, convinced that one day he would be a rock star.

Idolizing local rising stars such as Bruce Springsteen and the Asbury Jukes, Jon was playing in clubs by the time he was 16. He met keyboardist David Bryan in high school, and the two formed a ten-piece rhythm and blues band called Atlantic City Expressway. Jon also performed with bands called The Rest, The Lechers and John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones.

In 1980, Jon recorded his first single, Runaway, at his cousin's studio, with back-up by studio musicians. A local radio station included the song on a compilation tape, and it began to get frequent airplay. The success of Runaway got Jon noticed, and he realized that he'd need more than session players if he wanted to capitalize on his success.

Jon gave David a call, who in turn tapped Alec John Such, Tico Torres and guitarist Richie Samborra. During a show in New York in 1983, the band caught the attention of record exececutive Derek Shulman, who signed them to PolyGram. It was Shulman who anglicized John Bongiovi's name to Bon Jovi.

"Runaway" was written in 1980 and originally recorded in 1981 for the so called "Power Station Demos". The recordings were primarily done by an ensemble simply known as Jon Bongiovi & The Rest. Lead guitar on the original 1980's track was Bon Jovi's neighbour, Dave Sabo (a.k.a. The Snake), who would later form the group Skid Row. One night after a show, Richie Sambora found Bon Jovi backstage and told him that he should be the guitarist. Bon Jovi wrote him off and did not think much of it but told him to learn the material and show up for rehearsal. Sambora was early and knew the material and Bon Jovi was impressed; in that moment, Sambora became the band's lead guitarist and Bon Jovi was born. -Wikipedia.com

My Thoughts: Well because I have been a Bon Jovi fan since their 1st album "Bon Jovi" I will try to keep it short, lol...
Jon melted my heart the second I watched the music video for "Runaway"...Wow, I was in lust, The voice, the hair, the body, what more could a young girl ask for, lol !!!
He is and always will be my #1 Rock Star crush.
He has made an impact not only in the music industry but also as an actor and helped launch the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League. I will be a dedicated Jon Bon Jovier for life~
